LinkedIn Engagement Rate Calculator
Type the numbers from one LinkedIn post. The rate updates as you type. Nothing leaves your browser.
How the calculator works
By impressions: (reactions + comments + reposts) / impressions x 100. This tells you what share of the people who saw a post acted on it, so it is the fairest way to compare your own posts.
By followers: (reactions + comments + reposts) / followers x 100. Follower counts are public, so this is the rate to use when comparing your account with someone else's.
How to raise your engagement rate
- Open with the result or the number in the first two lines, before "see more".
- Ask one specific question at the end and reply to every comment in the first hour.
- Post when your audience is online, and check which days gave your best rates.
- Comment usefully on posts in your field so new readers find your profile.

Questions
How is LinkedIn engagement rate calculated?
Add the reactions, comments and reposts on a post, divide by the post's impressions and multiply by 100. That is engagement rate by impressions. Dividing by your follower count instead gives engagement rate by followers.
Which rate should I use?
Use the impressions rate to compare posts with each other, because it measures how many people who saw a post acted on it. Use the followers rate to compare your account with other accounts, because follower counts are public and impressions are not.
Where do I find impressions?
Open the post on LinkedIn and select the analytics or impressions link under it. Company page admins can also see impressions in Page analytics.
What is a good LinkedIn engagement rate?
It varies a lot by industry, audience size and format, so the most useful benchmark is your own history. Calculate the rate for your last ten posts and aim to beat their average.
Is my data stored?
No. The calculator runs in your browser and does not send or save the numbers you type.
